Rip Curl-themed Citroen C4 Cactus comes to Australia
When it was first announced, the Rip Curl Citroen C4 was, oddly, earmarked exclusively for a European launch. But, fittingly, the compact surf-themed SUV is now on its way to the label's homeland.
As part of the Citroen’s newly-formed alliance with the iconic Aussie surf brand, the special-edition SUV will be limited to just 15 examples Down Under, starting at $28,790 plus on-road costs.
Powering Australian versions of the limited-edition Cactus is PSA Groupe's 1.2-litre PureTech turbocharged petrol engine, producing 81kW of power and 205Nm of torque.
Drive is sent to the front wheels through a five-speed manual transmission.
To distinguish itself from the already quirky ‘regular’ range, the Rip Curl Cactus features ‘Rip Curl’ graphics on the front mud guards and C-pillars, Grip Control, Goodyear mud and snow tyres, silver skid plate trims on the front and rear bumpers, white mirror caps and white roof rails.
Despite being only front-wheel drive, Citroen claims the inclusion of Grip Control and all-terrain tyres make the Rip Curl Cactus ideal for the surf and snow.
Inside, the special-edition features Rip Curl-branded floor mats with orange stitching, along with orange seat belts and speaker surrounds.
Four colours are offered with the Rip Curl C4 Cactus, Noir Obsidien (black), Rouge Aden (red), Olive Brown and White. All exterior finishes are paired with black Airbumps.
The white exterior finish is an additional $200, being a pearlescent hue.
