Range Rover Evoque by Kahn Cosworth
Even though the highly-anticipated Range Rover Evoque hasn't been released onto the market yet, tuners are already warming up their tools. Kahn Design and Cosworth have plans for the smallest, sportiest Range Rover, which could include more power and more looks.
Kahn Design has just announced it does have plans for the hot Range Rover although the company is keeping the details tightly under wraps. We, and other reports, suspect enhancements won't be limited to the door stickers and alloy wheels as pictured. Since Cosworth is involved we could expect big engine upgrades to the 2.0-litre Ford EcoBoost engine in the petrol Si4 variant.
The EcoBoost engine produces 177kW of power in standard form and is able to sprint to 100km/h from a standstill in just 7.1 seconds, Cosworth is likely to provide even more boost for the economical unit, bring acceleration times on par with a proper sports car. This would surely make the Rangie one of the fastest little SUVs around.
Other enhancements are said to include sleek cosmetic touches such as Kahn Cosworth badging, bigger wheels and some aerodynamic revisions. We'll have to wait and see what the companies are thinking exactly though before we know for sure.
The standard Range Rover Evoque will be available in international markets as of mid-2011. Be sure to look out for more updates on this little bruiser prior to the official launch.
