Tesla CEO Elon Musk has once again taken to Twitter to hint at the electric automaker’s next big announcement - in this instance a possible performance upgrade for the flagship P100D drive system available in the Model S sedan and Model X SUV ranges.
In the tweet, Musk said “Forgot to mention there will be a P100D Ludicrous Easter egg soon that uncorks the full performance” but gave no other details of what that might involve.

In the case of the Model S P100D the high performance EV is already capable of sprinting from 0-100 km/h in a supercar-like 2.7 seconds with Tesla’s Ludicrous drive mode engaged, with the Model X SUV not far behind it with a 3.1 second sprint time.
Previous ‘easter eggs’ (hidden features not explained in the owner's manual) packaged into the Tesla range haven’t been performance oriented, but have included a Ludicrous mode warp-speed animation, and rainbow charge-port LED illumination, along with numerous other small operational features.
