Audi Q4 E-Tron confirmed for Australia, due mid-2024

The most affordable electric Audi to date is due to join the German car-maker's Australian line-up by the middle of next year.

The Audi Q4 E-Tron electric SUV has been confirmed for Australia, due in local showrooms mid-2024 with the latest technology updates.

Both the Audi Q4 E-Tron's SUV and coupe-like body styles will be offered in Australia, however prices and exact model grades are yet to be announced.

Given European pricing ranges from €50,000 to €65,000, this could equate to a price range $AU83,000 to $AU108,000 locally – although these are estimates and final RRPs are yet to be confirmed.

The Audi Q4 E-Tron has been on sale in Europe for about 18 months and the German car maker has just announced a range of technology upgrades to improve battery efficiency and driving range.

Confirming the arrival of the Audi Q4 E-Tron on opening day of the inaugural Melbourne Electric Vehicle show, Audi Australia product planning executive Peter Strudwicke said the company waited for the latest upgrades and for improved supply out of the factory before launching locally.

The arrival of the Audi Q4 E-Tron brings the number of electric vehicles offered in Australia by the company to three, alongside the Q8 E-Tron and E-Tron GT.

Meantime, while details on the Australian line-up for the Audi Q4 E-Tron are yet to be confirmed, in Europe the vehicle is available with two power outputs – a 210kW single-motor rear-wheel-drive and a 250kW dual-motor all-wheel-drive – which are powered by a 77kWh battery.

Audi says it expects to release more information about the Q4 E-Tron – such as prices, specifications and options – closer to Australian showroom arrivals.

Also at the Melbourne Electric Vehicle show today was the first public appearance in Australia of the updated Audi Q8 E-Tron, which is rolling into showrooms in the coming weeks.

This model was previously simply called 'E-Tron', however Audi has added the Q8 tag to better identify where it sits in the line-up as the German auto giant prepares to phase out petrol and diesel cars by 2033.
