2021 Range Rover Evoque price and specs: Hybrid option now available
The 2021 Range Rover Evoque line-up has been refreshed with a new hybrid engine and a new infotainment system.
- 2021 Range Rover Evoque gets hybrid diesel powertrain
- Thinned range now only offered with R-Dynamic design package
- Updated infotainment system with music streaming
- Entry-level S P200 gets a price rise, but SE P250 now cheaper
The Evoque range has been consolidated to offer only the R-Dynamic design package. While the now entry-level R-Dynamic S P200 is $880 more than the outgoing model, the R-Dynamic SE P250 has seen a price reduction of $1295.
Range Rover's R-Dynamic pack adds a sportier look with a black grill and mirror covers, black bonnet and side vents, body-coloured lower front bumper, and burnished copper exhaust tips.
The P200 2.0-litre petrol turbo four-cylinder remains in the S variant with 147kW/320Nm, but a P250 version is also available on the SE and HSE with 183kW/365Nm. The P300 and D240 engine options have been dropped from the line-up.
Added to the Evoque range is a new 2.0-litre mild-hybrid turbo diesel powertrain producing 150kw/430Nm, available in the D200 SE model.
Using a 48-volt system, the hybrid option improves fuel consumption and lowers exhaust emissions by electrically aiding acceleration, with power recuperated during deceleration and braking.
All Evoque models are all-wheel-drive and use a ZF nine-speed automatic transmission.
The updated Evoque gains the company's Pivi infotainment system, allowing simultaneous Bluetooth connection with two phones, integrated Spotify with music streaming, and over-the-air software updates via an in-built data connection. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are included.
Wireless smartphone charging with signal-boosting option is also available.
Occupants can breathe easier, with the new Range Rover getting an air purifying system. The air inside the cabin can filter out potentially harmful particulates, pollen, and even smells, controlled via the car's infotainment screen.
A new rear-collision monitoring system keeps an eye on vehicles behind, preparing Evoque for a potential rear-end impact, and reducing the severity to occupants.
Drivers also benefit from a new 3D, 360-degree camera system, helping to navigate around obstacles during parking or in off-road scenarios up to 30km/h.
The 2021 Range Rover Evoque is now available to order.
