2020 Mercedes-Benz GLE recalled with potential dashboard and airbag fault
A fault with the dashboard construction could cause the front passenger airbag to deploy incorrectly, according to the manufacturer.
Mercedes-Benz Australia has recalled eight examples of its 2020 Mercedes-Benz GLE SUV, citing a potential fault with the dashboard that could cause the airbags to malfunction.
The affected vehicles were sold between 6 January 2020 and 22 September 2020 (Model Year 2020).
The recall notice, lodged with the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC), says: “The dashboard may not have been bonded together properly.”
“In the event of an accident, the front passenger airbag may not deploy correctly, increasing the risk of injury or death to vehicle occupants.”
