2019-20 Lamborghini Urus SUV models recalled for potential fire risk
Lamborghini Australia has issued a recall of 147 examples of the Lamborghini Urus SUV from Model Years 2019 and 2020 (MY19-20), due to a potential fire hazard.
The recall notice, lodged with the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC), says the connector on a fuel feed line in the engine compartment of the Urus may not meet specifications.
Lamborghini says over time, heat stress may cause the connector to soften, potentially spilling fuel on to hot surfaces and increasing the possibility of a fire.
Affected vehicles were sold between 27 June 2018 and 13 August 2020. Lamborghini Australia is contacting owners to organise inspection and repair of the defect.
A spokesperson for Lamborghini Australia has told CarAdvice there have been no major instances of the part failing in Australia, and the recall is purely precautionary.
