2018 Ram 1500 recalled
Over 100 trucks asked back for faulty park brakes.
American Special Vehicles has issued a recall for the Ram 1500 over concerns a loose cable could cause the parking brake to become "difficult to operate".
The conversion firm reports the outer cable sheath for the park brake may have slipped through the end fitting.
If the condition occurs, the park brake could also fail, meaning the vehicle is unable to be secured. This increases the risk of an accident, and also poses an injury risk to the vehicle's occupants and other road users.
A total of 118 pickups are affected by this notice, sold from 1 June 2018 through 31 December 2018. The VIN list for these vehicles is available here.
Owners will be contacted via maila, and are advised to contact their local Ram dealer to have their 1500 inspected and repaired if necessary.
