Ford Fiesta, Ranger recalled
More than 100,000 cars are included in the campaign, which relates to the door latches.
Ford has recalled the 2010-16 Fiesta and 2011-15 Ranger, over concerns about the pawl spring tab in the side-door latch.
According to the company, the spring tab in a side-door latch could break, which usually prevents the door from latching. If the car can be closed, however, the door could open while the vehicle is moving.
That increases the risk of accident, and puts some occupants at risk of falling out of the vehicle while it's in motion.
A total of 42,907 Fiestas and 85,863 Rangers are included in the recall – the complete set of VIN lists can be found here.
Ford will contact owners of the affected vehicles and advise them to get in touch with their nearest dealership for a free fix. Concerned customers can call 1800 503 672 for more information.
