Australian rally star Chris Atkinson has teamed with old mate Ken Block this week, with the two set to pilot a pair of Ford Fiesta rally cars around the Mexican city of Guanajuato.

Partnering with DC Shoes founder and YouTube star Block for round three of this year's World Rally Championship, Atkinson revealed his new Monster World Rally Team livery this week.

Atkinson says Block designed the liveries of both jacked-up Fiestas, with the two set apart by a full black treatment for the Aussie's car, and a white-on-black job for Block.

“When it comes to making things look the business Ken is the guy that gets in done and both cars will be turning plenty of heads at the DC Shoes Guanajuato Street Stage tomorrow tonight,” 'Atko' said.

Joining Block's Monster crew also marks a new chapter for Atkinson's rally career, after being left without a permanent WRC gig when Subaru pulled out of the game in 2008.

The Australian hasn't been entirely out in the cold however, with a run in Citroen's C4 rally car and the Proton R3 rally car keeping him busy.

"Obviously, when Subaru stopped racing in the WRC, Chris was left without a ride, so it’s nice to see him getting back to the level where he belongs," Block said.

"He’s taken 2nd overall here in Mexico before, so it should be an exciting race for us as a team.”

As for Block, the American will be hoping for a better result than his turn in Portugal last year, where he flipped his paint drip-liveried Fiesta, knocking him out of that weekend's racing.
