VOLKSWAGEN AMAROK AUSTRALIA
The production version of Volkswagen’s tough Amarok Canyon concept is now on sale in Australia, following its European launch in late 2012.
Available in dual-cab four-wheel-drive form only, the Amarok Canyon is based on the TDI 400 and TDI 420 Highline models, which kick off at $50,990.
In Canyon form, the Amarok can be had in TDI 400 six-speed manual guise from $56,990 or TDI 420 eight-speed auto from $59,990.
Boosting the Highline to Canyon spec sees the Amarok pick up a black sports bar and side rails for the tub, along with 17-inch alloys wrapped in Pirelli Scorpion AT-R rubber.
There’s also a UV- and impact-resistant tray liner in the tub, along with smoked tail-lights, and Canyon graphics to the tailgate and doors.
In the cabin, there’s satellite navigation and a reversing camera, along with two-tone Nappa leather trim with orange contrast stitching.
Available colours include Candy White, Deep Black, Reflex Silver and Cooper Orange (pictured).
