Toyota has released the first look at its i-TRIL concept, set to make its official debut in March as part of the Geneva Motor Show.

Although there's little so see in the first teaser image Toyota describes the i-TRIL as a city car which can be operated as an autonomous vehicle.

It has three seats in a one-plus-two layout and includes a development of the ‘Active Lean’ technology first seen on the 2013 i-Road concept, so it tilts in corners like a motorcycle.

The i-TRIL was developed by Toyota Motor Europe and penned by its ED2 design studio in Nice, France.

Toyota says the i-TRIL is for people who want to have fun even while driving at slow speeds.

For production cars, Toyota’s star in Geneva will be the refreshed Yaris compact car which arrives in Switzerland on the back of its success in the Monte Carlo Rally.

The new Toyota WRC (World Rally Championship) program for the Yaris has already spawned a high-performance road car – the Yaris GRMN hot hatch powered by a 156kW supercharged 1.8-litre engine, which isn't slated for an Australian release.
