The new concepts, dubbed XIV-Air and XIV-Adventure, are expected to offer the best look yet at SsangYong’s coming next-generation SUV, the X100.
New artwork released this week reveal that the concepts will again evolve the look of the previous XIV concepts, while moving the compact SUV’s styling closer to a market-ready design.
These illustrations reveal two versions of the XIV, one a conventional design with a specialised roof rack, the other a more extravagant open-air SUV.
Spy photos obtained in August also suggest that these latest concepts could be right on-the-money, with today’s drawings - if only in the case of the hardtop version - outlining a near production look.
In concept form, the XIV measures 4195mm long with a 2600mm wheelbase. This means that, as expected, the X100 will enter the compact SUV as a potential rival to the likes of Nissan’s Juke and the Holden Trax.
The XIV - which may even be offered in both five- and seven-seat form - are expected to ride on an all-new platform, with power provided by 1.6 litre four-cylinder engines.
Watch for both concepts to debut at next month’s Paris Motor Show.
