Skoda has revealed a customised version of its Yeti crossover for the coming Worthersee GTI event, dubbed Yeti Xtreme.
Inspired by the classic rally-racer look, Skoda’s Yeti Xtreme gets meaty flares, unique bumpers at both ends, new skirts and 17-inch alloys in Dakar-ready rubber.
In the cabin, there’s four adjustable sports seats, bracing and safety bars, diamond-plated aluminium floor panels, and racing-style switches in the centre console.
The racing theme continues to the extent of including a belt cutter, fire extinguisher and sand shovels.
All of this is rounded out with a special grey and fluoro yellow theme inside and out, highlighted by a bright finish to the roof and five-spoke wheels.
It’s a more familiar affair under the bonnet however, with the Yeti Xtreme driven by a 112kW/250Nm 1.8 litre petrol engine - the most powerful option in the Yeti range.
This is matched to Volkswagen’s six-speed DSG auto and, of course, an all-wheel-drive layout.
Can we expect a hotted-up version of the Yeti to enter production? At this late stage in the current model’s life-cycle, it’s unlikely, but maybe next time...
