In 2002 Skoda unveiled the Tudor concept, named for the two-door Tudor of the 1940s and built on the same architecture underpinning the 2001 Superb sedan.
Showcasing Skoda's capabilities with Volkswagen at its back, the Tudor concept was a lowered FWD coupe with a 142kW six-cylinder petrol engine mated to a five-speed manual.
Now, with Skoda set to deliver a brand-new Octavia in 2013, Photoshop wiz Theophilus Chin has turned his hand to imagining a two-door take on the Czech midsizer.
Skoda has yet to reveal any plans beyond the floating of the concept, but with its Volkswagen parent brand offering just one coupe in its line-up, there is perhaps a chance a sporty two-door option is up for consideration.
While an RS-badged Octavia Coupe would likely draw new interest in the brand, buyers of the upcoming Octavia RS are unlikely to be disappointed.
Details for the hot sedan are still to be confirmed, but power is expected to come from the same 162kW turbo engine that drives Volkswagen's new 2013 Golf GTI hatch.
