Groupe PSA has issued a recall for two of its models in Australia due to a potential problem with the front windscreen wiper system.
The carmaker has identified a weakness with the electric wiper motor, which may be subject to water ingress.
As the motor cools after the vehicle has been used, the breather hole may draw moisture into the motor resulting in corrosion over time.
Non-functioning windscreen wipers could pose a hazard to the vehicle occupants and other road users.
Affected models include the Peugeot 4008 and the Citroen C4 Aircross, sold in Australia between June 2012 and January 2014. A total of 2241 examples of the 4008 along with 252 C4 Aircross' are on the recall list for Australia.
The same issue prompted a recall for the Mitsubishi Outlander SUV last month.
The relevant carmakers will attempt to contact affected owner shortly, but any owner wishing to learn more about the latest round of recalls should contact their local dealer. Peugeot Australia can be contacted on 1300 304 077, while Citroen Australia can be contacted on 1800 898 058.
