2015 NISMO 370Z
Nissan’s ageing 370Z sports coupe, now into its sixth year on the global stage, is about to get another makeover from the company’s Nismo tuning arm.
Set to play a much bigger role in Nissan’s future performance program, Nismo has recently revealed enhanced versions of the Pulsar, the Micra, the Juke and, of course, the hero GT-R.
This weekend, the Nismo 370Z will be given its third Nismo treatment. And while exact details are still to be revealed, it’s clear we can expect a restyled front bumper to appear.
Similar in look to the bumper worn by the 179kW Nismo Pulsar concept last year, the 2015 Nismo Z’s face will be a more complex design than the streamlined nose of the current version.
Tweaks at the front include a pair of new LED daytime running lights nested above vertical intakes and a broad red splitter and aero setup.
We can likely expect similar enhancements to the rear bumper, along with a unique wing and side skirts. Upgrades to the cabin are also likely.
Technical details remain a secret now, but expect further tweaks to the Z’s handling and possibly a small power boost for the 3.7 litre V6 engine.
With the coming unveiling of the updated Nismo 370Z and the tuning brand’s greater influence in future Nissan models, can we finally expect to see a Nismo model in Australia?
Speaking with TMR in March, Nissan Australia’s Peter Fadeyev would say only that while Nismo is on the local arm’s radar, there’s still no confirmed launch plans.
