You can have (just about) anything you want engraved on the back of your iPhone, but there’s only so many personalised number plates to go around.

If you’ve missed out on ‘MIKE’ (don’t look at this writer, that plate was likely snapped up before he was born), MINI has moved to give you another chance to name your new ride.

Launched this week, the new ‘name your MINI’ programme offers a range of customised badges for mounting on the grille - right where your grandpop probably mounted his RAC badge back in the day.

Available to new MINI customers, the campaign invites buyers to declare a name to be printed on one of ten badge designs.

MINI says around 150 owners have taken up the option since the programme launched in April, but it seems creativity might be a tricky thing for some buyers… the most common name so far is ‘MINI’.
