New spy photos of the upcoming and so-called Mercedes-Benz 'AMG GT' have arrived, offering the most revealing look yet at the new coupe.
Little is known about the new model, although it is clear from these photos that the GT - known also as the SLC and by the project name C190 - will adopt a more traditional coupe profile, with a long bonnet and a sweeping roofline.
Long high-set tail-lights can be seen at the rear, flanked by dual exhaust tips and a short lip spoiler on the boot lid.
For now, it remains unclear what role the new coupe will play in the Mercedes-Benz AMG line.
Reports had previously suggested the 'GT' would enter below the hero SLS, but the latest round of whispers suggest it may instead replace the SLS as AMG's new hero - but not succeed it philosophically.
It is however known that the GT will ride on a shorter wheelbase and will lose around 150kg compared to the SLS.
While the outgoing SLS AMG GT is available with just one engine, the familiar 435kW 6.2 litre V8, an entry SLC model will reportedly offer around 360kW.
Above that would sit the 410kW SLC S, while a 435kW model would sit atop the range, essentially representing the current model.
Expect Merc's new 5.5 litre bi-turbo engine to power the top models, replacing the older 6.2 litre engine.
