Lotus To Launch Motorcycles Arm With C01 ‘Hyperbike’ Screamer

If anyone knows how to build a vehicle that is lightweight, small-engined and yet fast all at the same time, it’s Lotus.

And what better way to put that knowledge and skill into practice than by expanding your range to include motorcycles.

That’s exactly what Lotus plans to do, establishing a new branch of the Group Lotus company called Lotus Motorcycles.

The new branch will reportedly be a joint project between German motor-racing team Kodewa, tuning specialists the Holzer Group and ex-Volkswagen group designer Daniel Simon.

Lotus Motorcycles even has its very first model in sight; reportedly a 150kW hyper-bike featuring plenty of carbon, aerospace-grade steel and titanium in its construction along with integrated Lotus racing technology. 

The first model will be called C-01.

The one and only teaser photo shows us that the bike could feature a classically styled fuel tank, painted in the famous Lotus black and gold colour scheme (naturally).
