Jeep Australia is offering keen buyers the chance to get into a new $44,000 Cherokee for just $10,000 drive-away, as part of a new advertising campaign.
Taking the concept of a ‘pop up’ store to new extremes, Jeep has launched a new ‘Remote Dealership’ campaign, which will require potential buyers to watch the brand’s new mobile app like a (Trail)hawk.
Only 10 of the Cherokee Longitude 4x4 models will be offered, and with a $29,000 discount on offer - Jeep will also cover on-road costs - buyers will have to jump through hoops to land one.
“The all-new Jeep Cherokee is at home in the city but, unlike some of its rivals, it’s equally at home somewhere far remote – which is where we’re opening a dealership for a day,” Fiat Chrysler Australia’s Ashlin Moore said.
Entrants will need to download the Jeep app for either iPhone or an Android device (sorry Windows and Blackberry, you miss out again), registering their contact details by the morning of July 10.
A universal timer in the app, identical for all entrants, will then count down to zero and reveal the location of the ‘pop up’ Remote Dealership.
It doesn’t end there, of course. Because there’s only 10 cars up for grabs, hopeful buyers must then call the newly revealed Remote Dealership, committing to a purchase and promising to be there - wherever ‘there’ may be - on July 26.
You’ll also need to make your $10,000 drive-away payment immediately, but if it turns out you can’t make it to the Remote Dealership on the day, the amount will be refunded in full.
“We believe this is a ‘World-First’ and a campaign only Jeep could pull-off,” Fiat Chrysler Australia boss Veronica Johns said.
It’s certainly unique.
