Ferrari boss Luca di Montezemolo has confirmed that the Italian supercar company will reveal an all-new V12 engine at next month's Geneva Motor Show, inside an all-new car.

“We now have a complete range of models which will be joined in a few days time at the Geneva Show by a new 12-cylinder. A revolutionary new car that delivers extreme performance and unprecedented power output,” Montezemolo said.

It is likely that the upcoming engine is related to the new 485kW 6.3 litre V12 that powers the Ferrari FF, although power is expected to come closer to the Lamborghini Aventador's 525kW.

The house of the Prancing Horse remains tight-lipped on the rest of the details, although it is likely that the new car in question will be the successor to the 599 GTB Fiorano, spied more than a few times in recent months.

The new car will reportedly be known as the F620 (or simply the 620), and if our spy photos are anything to go by, it will retain the traditional super-tourer profile of the 599.

A seven-speed dual-clutch transmission should also feature, sending power from the new V12 to the rear wheels - or possibly all four wheels through Ferrari's new 4RM system.

Keeping weight down will be a new alloy monocoque body, rather than the full carbon-fibre body expected for the Enzo replacement.
