UPDATE: BMW has now also released official details and images.
A shadowy new teaser clip this morning might have offered a compelling preview of what we’ll see tonight… if leaked images from the German print media hadn’t already given the game away.
The video reveals that we can at least expect a slender new headlight design to replace the large units of the current 1 Series, but new photos destined for this weekend’s Auto Bild reveal the full extent of the hatch’s styling updates.
At the front of the 2015 1 Series we see a new take on the 2 Series Coupe’s headlights, rounded off at the inside point and with an almost Audi-like stepped look to the lower edge.
The hatch’s grille and bumper have also come in for a light update on this 120d variant.
Changes at the rear are just as significant, with an all-new look to the tail-lights bringing the hatch’s rear styling more in-line with the wider BMW range.
As with most BMW models, the 1 Series hatch’s rear lighting design now extends into the tailgate, with bold LED daytime lights extending through the centre of each corner.
Watch for more details to surface in the hours ahead.
