2015 MERCEDES-BENZ VIANO
New images of Mercedes-Benz's upcoming Viano replacement have surfaced online today, offering a first look at the new van's interior.
Moving beyond the utilitarian design of the current model's cabin, the new Viano will get a more luxurious fitout, including a S-Class inspired dash design, wood and aluminium highlights, and leather throughout.
Images of the rear space also point to a variable seating layout, with this configuration revealing a limousine-like arrangement of four seats and a number of storage spaces.
These latest images come on the heels of purportedly leaked artwork that surfaced in August, revealing what could be an early look at a sporting new design for Merc's next people-mover.
The earlier sketches showcased Mercedes' bold and upright new grille design and sharp headlights, while the profile showed off a deep character line, a familiar glasshouse and flared guards.
With the Viano sharing its body and components with the Vito van, we can likely also expect the company's next haul-lugger to wear a similar look.
According to enthusiast site Mercedes-Benz Passion, the new Viano will get a four-cylinder design engine with varying outputs depending on the model, and a seven-speed auto will be the only transmission on offer.
For its part, Mercedes-Benz has yet to confirm the authenticity of these images, but an unveiling might be right around the corner.
