BMW's still-new 1 Series hatch will soon come in for a small but significant styling tweak. Can you guess where? If you're pointing at its eyes, you'd be right.
The headlights of the new second-generation 1 Series represent the most obvious change to the nearly carry-over look of the first model, and you won't find their like anywhere else in the BMW range.
Now they've been shown the door. These latest spy photos reveal that the updated 2014 1 Series will get slimmer eyes, mirroring the look of the new 2 Series Coupe.
Heavy camouflage around the grille obscures the finer details, but it is clear that the faces of the 1 and 2 Series cars be brought closer together with this update.
The hatch's camouflage is especially heavy at the inside head of the headlights however, leaving room to wonder if the final look will mirror the 2 Series' look - or the connected design of the the X4, X5 and updated X3, the 3 Series, and the new 4 Series.
Styling of the 1 Series hatch appears otherwise unchanged, and being a relatively new model, dramatic mechanical changes are also unlikely.
Watch for the updated 1 Series to appear in the coming months, alongside its two-door 2 Series sibling.
