Alfa Romeo has announced a number of updates to its sleek MiTo three-door this week, bringing subtle styling changes and new technologies.
This 'Series 2' update to the MiTo, first launched in 2009, includes a revised Giulietta-inspired grille that adds a new chrome frame.
There's also a new burnished finish to the headlight bezels and, on Impression models, new 15-inch alloy wheels. So, not much going on with the exterior.
Move inside however, and you'll find Chrysler's polished UConnect infotainment system, marking the first use of the technology in an Alfa Romeo.
In the MiTo, the system features a five-inch display and offered Bluetooth, iPod, USB and auxiliary audio connectivity. There's also text-to-speech technology baked in.
The 2014 MiTo also gets an update to the 0.9 litre engine available overseas, producing 78kW and 143Nm of torque, with a 0-100km/h time of 11.4 seconds promised.
The MiTo is otherwise unchanged for 2014.
Speaking with TMR today, Fiat Australia's Tamara Weston confirmed that a local debut for this update is on the cards, although timing is still to be confirmed.
