Mitsubishi Australia has today announced the 2011 Outlander range, bringing a number of updates and a new addition to the line-up in the form of the 2011 Mitsubishi Outlander LS 2WD.
Powered by Mitsubishi's 2.4 litre DOHC MPI MIVEC petrol engine, the Outlander LS 2WD offers 125kW (at 6000rpm) and 226Nm of torque (at 4100rpm).
The new variant is fitted with a five-speed manual transmission as standard. A continuously variable automatic transmission - including Sports Model sequential shifting and INVECS Smart Logic - is available as an option.
The 2.4 litre engine is available in three specification levels, including the LS 2WD and 4WD variants, XLS and XLS Luxury. The XLS and XLS Luxury are available with the CVT transmission only.
As with the 2010 model, the VR and VRX variants in the Outlander range are available with the more powerful 3.0 litre V6 petrol engine. The V6 produces a healthy 169kW (6250rpm) and 291Nm of torque (3750rpm) and comes paired with a six-speed automatic with Sports Mode sequential shifting and INVECS Smart Logic.
Updates to the Outlander range include a new power window safety system with driver-side auto up/down controls, along with an enhanced brake assist system.
A full-size spare tyre is now standard on all five-seat Outlander variants, and a range of updated alloy wheels are available for the XLS, VR and VRX models.
Safety features for the 2011 Outlander range include dual-stage SRS airbags for the driver and front passenger, along with active stability control, ABS with EBD, RISE body protection and three-point ELR (Emergency Locking Retractor) seatbelts.
