Big Daddy is back at HSV (Holden Special Vehicles) with the release of the luxury long-wheelbase Statesman based Grange. The new WM Grange was released today and according to HSV it is without peer.

New HSV managing director Scott Grant presided over the launch and made special mention of the outstanding sales growth HSV are currently experiencing.

“This car will truly build on the outstanding sales success HSV has enjoyed over the last eight months, since launching the E-series. April was the company’s eighth record month of sales consecutively, with 475 retail deliveries. There is already a strong order bank for the new model and the HSV Grange is often cited as representing the singularly most popular repeat purchase vehicle in the HSV line up – so we’re confident it will be well received in the marketplace,” Scott Grant said.

The new HSV WM Grange features Magnetic Ride Control and the same LS2 307Kw V8 that is standard across the E-Series range. Braking is taken car of by HSV’s premium four-piston brake package while Electronic Stability Control is there to assist if things get a bit untidy. The Grange is available with GM’s 6-speed automatic and as would be expected in this type of car there is no manual option.

The WM Grange is really a long-wheel base version of the current E-Series Senator and as such retains all of the luxury appointments customers would expect from the top of the range HSV offering. Standard features include dual screen rear DVD player, tri-zone electronic climate control, Xenon headlights and a Bose sound system.

“With Grange, we wanted to offer a car that would be defined as an Australian ‘performance and luxury flagship’, without any suggestion of overstating its massive capability. Unique exterior touches include front fascia, grille, discreet rear spoiler and rear lower appliqué, while the interior boasts our exclusive steering wheel and instrumentation. The interior is available in both black and light urban, with an ambience to match the very best of the Europeans.”

The new HSV WM Grange is available now and is priced from $82,990 which actually represents a price reduction of more than 8% over the outgoing model.
