Jezza hits the road in the wee small hours of the morning to sample the 378kW/507hp Mercedes-Benz CLK Black Series and returns home smitten, announcing that the hi-po Merc is now his new favourite—and The Stig agrees.

A distinct lack of oversteer slides and smoking rear tyres suggest that JC took Mercedes and their written warning very seriously. Check it out, and you’ll see what I mean.

It has a face only a mother could love but there is no disputing the uber sedan credentials of Cadillac’s new CTS-V. Its supercharged 6.2-litre LSA V8 packs a solid 415kW/747Nm and you will see it put to good use around the Milford circuit in this video.

Keeping the beefy sedan on the blacktop is GM’s Magnetic Ride Control adjustable damping system as seen in our own HSV GTS sedan.

Who would have thought a Caddy could cut a lap with this much dash!

On the off chance that you were wondering how the new Lamborghini LP560-4’s launch control system works (we know we were!) here is MotorTrend’s video explaining the process.

0-100km/h in just 3.7 seconds puts the LP560-4 in the “League of Extraordinary Supercars’, unless of course you have an R35 GT-R which is even quicker but a bit like settling for the ugly step sister in this company.

If there is one option that every car should have it’s Lamborghini’s new Anti-Boredom Assist (ABA). Available on the new Lamborghini LP560-4, it’s a new technology that seems to counteract a bunch of other important technologies, including Traction Control (TC) and Electronic Stability Control (ESP).

Pushing the ABA button is something that should only be undertaken by experienced drivers, and it’s unlikely to be an option on Australian delivered LP560-4’s. More’s the pity.

This extraordinary Lamborghini commercial falls short of perfection only because we don’t get to hear the Lambo’s 5.2-litre V10 screaming in anger as it rips around the streets of Los Angeles. We do however get to see plenty of sideways action and understand a little better why the guy with the hot car always gets the girls.

subaru-exiga-teaser

Rumour has been rife across the auto blogosphere in the last week and it has finally culminated in Subaru confirming a production version of their Exiga seven-passenger wagon concept. Subaru provided their usual tasty glimpse by way of a teaser image yesterday.

The first thing we noticed was the barest hint of a WRX style bonnet scoop suggesting that like the concept the Exiga will be powered by a turbo-charged version of one of Subaru’s boxer four-cylinder engines either a 2.0-litre or 2.5-litre. The concept was powered by a 2.0-litre turbo unit.

While we Australians are served a diet of lukewarm, insipid and frankly boring car commercials along with our daily meds to ensure compliance, our friends in North America are treated like adults and have the pleasure of watching car commercials like the one above; designed to make them feel like kids.

The latest ad for Pontiac’s G8 warps time and takes viewers back to the days when they raced Scalextric slot cars in their parents’ lounge rooms and pushed Hot Wheels cars around roads that only existed in their minds. Yes, I remember those days well.

Lordy, the boys from Pontiac even have the G8 in the clip spinning, seemingly out of control. How do they get away with it?

Our friends over at Automobiles De Luxe have produced another fine video. This time around, ADL were lucky enough to attend the 2008 New York Auto Show as guests of GM. A beautifully produced video that sits well above the usual fare found on Auto blogs, its worth clicking play and kicking back while Gunnar shows you New York at night and the Auto Show highlights.

Bugatti’s limited run partnership with Hermès has resulted in the ultimate Veyron, at least for those that like lashings of leather. Thankfully all of the Veyron good bits have been left untouched, which means under the skin is the same W16 quad-turbo 407km/h monster that we all know and love - it’s just draped in a more ‘dapper’ suit.

Click through to learn more about the Veyron Fbg par Hermes as the Wall Street Journal takes a closer look and asks the tough questions - is there a need for an even more expensive Veyron?
