Jay is back. A few weeks ago we saw Jay’s review of the R35 GT-R, this time around it’s the Mercedes-Benz McLaren SLR that’s in the spotlight; and Jay likes it.

Oft maligned the super expensive SLR has proven to be less than a hit with the punters and has been the catalyst for Mercedes-Benz and McLaren to sever ties and pursue future ultra-high performance models of their own.

Jay however ranks the SLR as one of his favourite cars. In this video, he answers the critics and takes you for a tour and some wheel time in his personal SLR. Try starting this video and not seeing it through to the end.

McLaren P11 supercar prototype testing underway

More news regarding McLaren’s P11 supercar is coming to light. With production of the Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren winding up in 2009, McLaren are gearing up for a suitable supercar replacement.

According to Autocar, early prototypes of the P11 began shakedown testing in mid-April in preparation for a 2009 unveiling before hitting showrooms in March 2010. The standard P11 will lead the charge with roadster and hi-po versions expected to follow.
