Monza, the home of Italian motorsport, has seen many Alfa Romeo victories since it opened in 1922, making it a place of reverence for the Italian manufacturer and those with a passion for its products. Alfa Romeo are dusting off the Monza name for what they consider to be the most sort-after versions of their GT and 147 models.
The Alfa Romeo GT Monza features unique 18 inch alloy wheels, red painted brake callipers and an Alfa Romeo ‘shield’ and door mirrors in satin effect chrome. The GT Monza package also includes a chrome exhaust tip and – on manual versions – a chrome gear knob along with rear parking sensors.

Evening, readers. Shane Rubans here, The Motor Report’s gaming correspondent.
Welcome to a new area of TMR, dedicated solely to news on car-related games for consoles, computers and in the arcades. Unfortunately though, rather than start this off with some uplifting info about the latest racer to hit the shelves at your local geek sanctuary, there’s news of a possible delay on the world’s most beloved driving franchise.
That’s right, Gran Turismo 5 may not come out until 2010.
A recent interview with the founder of Polyphony Digital, Kazunori Yamauchi, has revealed that the developer does not expect to have the game out until late 2009 at the earliest, opting to concentrate on adding features to the full game’s teaser, Gran Turismo 5: Prologue.

Any more acronyms in that post title, and I reckon there’s a record in it.
Ford Performance Vehicles (FPV) has taken a step into the future, relying solely on the virtues of computer animation to promote its new FG Falcon-based performance range on television. Could it also be a clever attempt at skirting the rules when it comes to depicting reckless driving in televised advertisements?
FPV says the use of CGI has allowed the company to explore new dimensions in the way an automotive commercial could be approached, using an open desert-like scene with no roads and plenty of space—a scenario difficult to arrange in the real world without confronting various hurdles.
Mazda has announced the pricing and specifications for its updated RX-8 range – the car that Mazda likes to refer to as, “the world’s most successful rotary-powered sports car”.
Since its launch in July 2003 worldwide sales of the RX-8 have exceeded 170,000 units with Australia accounting for a modest 5,400 of those.

Subaru today announced the release of the 2008 Liberty GT tuned by STI—I thought it best to italicize, lest the name cause confusion—featuring a slather of upgrades from the boffins at Subaru Tecnica International (STI). » Read Article

NihonCar have posted a couple of images from Subaru Magazine, purported to be a preview of the next—and likely last—facelift for the Subaru Liberty (sold throughout the rest of the world as the Legacy). The example shown is the B4, a badge which last saw light in Australia on the third generation Liberty, and is now marketed here in the fourth generation Liberty range as the Liberty GT.
One would have to assume that if this facelift is indeed legitimate, it would have to be the last before an all-new model. With Mazda and Honda both having already revealed and brought to market their new all-new 6 and Accord models, the Liberty—while still a beautiful sedan—is starting to get a bit long in the tooth. More details after the jump. » Read Article
Ferrari as promised is revealing the details and images of their new California in what amounts to a slow automotive strip-tease. Frankly, we are finding it all rather seductive.
The latest photographs released overnight show the new Pininfarina-styled retractable hard top convertible with its top closed and in an Azzurro California livery. Azzurro California was the colour chosen for the legendary 1960 California’s appearance at the New York Auto Show in 1962 and proved one of the firm favourites with owners of that model.

Mazda Australia has released the first details of their revitalized RX-8 sports car range, due to arrive on our shores early in the second half of 2008.
The new RX-8 employs a myriad of mechanical upgrades, all designed to enhance the reputation and iconic status of the world’s only rotary-powered, four-door sports car.
“The Mazda RX-8 is a special car, both to us and in the automotive world, and there’s a palpable excitement in the lead-up to the new model,” said Mazda Managing Director Doug Dickson. “It’s like one long night before Christmas!”
Mazda Australia can now confirm that the new RX-8 range will consist of three models - one of which will wear the storied GT moniker.
