2018 Holden Commodore – Price And Features For Australia

Holden has started building anticipation for its first imported 'ZB' Commodore range, revealing pricing specification details for the new model ahead of its February 2018 on-sale date.

In an attempt to boost the new model’s profile the four-cylinder turbocharged Commodore base model, called Commodore LT, will launch with a driveaway price of $35,990, making it some $3935 cheaper than the previous VF Evoke V6.

Holden also announced its new naming convention with Commodore to adopt LT, RS, RS-V and VXR designations with the only surviving trim levels being Calais and Calais-V, laying the previous sporty SV6 and SS monikers to rest.

Pricing for the range begins at $33,690 (plus on-road costs) for the LT powered by a 191kW/350Nm 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine and paired to a nine-speed automatic transmission driving the front wheels.

As an introductory offer the Commodore LT will be offered with a $35,990 driveaway price from launch. A Sportwagon version will also be available for $2000 extra or can be upgraded to a 2.0-litre turbo diesel engine option for an additional $3000.

Standard equipment on the LT includes 17-inch alloy wheels, auto lights with LED Daytime Runnings Lights, LED tail lights, keyless entry and ignition, remote start, Holden’s MyLink infotainment system with 7-inch touchscreen, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, cruise control, cloth trimmed seats and a leather-wrapped steering wheel.

Standard safety equipment includes autonomous emergency braking, forward collision warning, lane keeping assist and lane departure warning as well as a reversing camera and front and rear parking sensors.

Stepping up to the RS starts at $37,290 (plus on-road costs) for the 2.0-litre petrol Liftback and $40,790 for the 230kW/370Nm 3.6-litre V6 which also adds all-wheel drive. The Sportwagon is only available with the RS 2.0-litre for an addition $2200.

On top of the LT's equipment the RS adds 18-inch alloys, a sports body kit, sports front seats, sport steering wheel and a rear lip spoiler. It also gets blind spot monitoring and rear cross traffic alert added to the safety package. The Sportwagon gets a hands-free power tailgate too.

Next up the range is the RS-V which is exclusively available with the V6 engine, priced from $46,990 for the Liftback and $49,190 for the Sportwagon.

It addition to the bigger engine and all-wheel drive system, with an electronic limited slip rear differential, the RS-V also adds ‘Hi Per Strut’ suspension setup for improved handling.

Extra equipment includes a rear sports bumper, wireless smartphone charging, ambient interior lighting, an 8-inch infotainment touchscreen, satellite navigation, digital radio, colour head-up display, leather upholstery and heated front seats.

The Calais is priced from $40,990 for the 2.0-litre petrol Liftback and $45,990 for the V6-powered wagon, which ditches the Sportwagen designation and instead adopts Tourer naming, bringing with it raised ride height and SUV-inspired styling similar to the likes of the Subaru Outback and Volkswagen Passat Alltrack.

Standard equipment on the Calais includes 18-inch alloys, leather upholstery, heated front seats, wireless smartphone charging, 8-inch infotainment touchscreen, navigation and digital radio in addition to the features of the LT.

It also gets blind spot monitoring and rear cross traffic alert to go with the rest of the active safety features.

The Calais-V is only available with the V6 powertrain, both in the Liftback and Tourer, priced from $51,990 and $53,990 respectively.

On top of the Calais' gear the V adds 20-inch alloys, adaptive LED matrix headlights, electric sunroof (Liftback) or panoramic sunroof (Tourer), colour head-up display, 360-degree parking camera, massaging driver’s seat, ventilated front seats, heated rear seats and a Bose premium sound system.

The top-of-the-range VXR is only available in the Liftback body, powered by the V6 and priced from $55,990.

Building on the RS-V equipment it adds 20-inch alloys, adaptive dampers, Brembo front brakes, adaptive LED matrix headlights, VXR floor mats and sill plates, electric sunroof, a 360-degree parking camera, adaptive cruise control, leather sports seats, ventilated front seats, heated rear seats, power side bolsters for the front seats and a Bose premium audio system.

In addition to the LT Liftback drive-away price, Holden is offering other selected models with built-in on-road costs. The Liftback RS 2.0-litre petrol will be available from $38,990 and RS V6 from $42,490, and the Calais Tourer will be $47,990 drive-away at launch.

The new Commodore range is set to hit dealerships in late February 2018.
