Considered one of the most collectable 70's muscle cars, this E49 Charger R/T is exceptionally rare - one of only 149 produced. At its launch in 1971 the VH Valiant Charger was quickly recognised by the motoring press for its striking good looks winning the Wheels 'Car of the Year' Award.

This race-bred 4.3-litre 225kW straight-six with special crankshaft, pistons and conrods is fed by triple-Weber carburettors. The big six is smooth and torquey, providing the raw and connected feel that these cars have become so well known for. The unbreakable four-speed box has a precise and effortless feel when driving.

It has been beautifully restored in its original Mercury Silver, incorporating its unique body detailing with correct decals and striping. It retains its original, unrestored black interior with full instrumentation and its genuine aluminium steering wheel. It also retains its original factory alloy wheels, while its underbody and engine bay present in impeccable condition.

With its original Service Log Book and Owner's Manual (signed by Leo Geoghegan) this highly collectable Australian Muscle could now be yours.

Deemed 'the best car never to win at Bathurst' the R/T E49 Charger was a highly developed racing version with a potent performance. Despite utilising a six-cylinder engine it is lighter and quicker than a Ford Falcon V8 GT-HO Phase 111 with a 0 - 100km/hour time of just 6.3-secs. It would set a production car acceleration record that would stand for 27 years. Top speed was quoted at 211km/hour.
