2007 Holden Adventura LX6 review: Quick drive
The Adventra is clearly based on the Holden Commodore VZ wagon, with the raised body height giving away its modest off-road ambitions.
Powered by the Alloytec 3.6-litre V6 engine, it hauls its two-tonne kerb weight along rather noisily but smoothly.
Mated to a five-speed automatic transmission, the 188 kW/330 Nm engine delivers a claimed 13.2 L/100 km fuel consumption average on normal unleaded fuel. It gets only a 2.5-star emissions rating from GreenVehicleGuide.
The LX6 is the top specification Adventra now that the V8 version has been pensioned off. Standard equipment includes dual front and side airbags, stability and traction control, ABS with EBD and BAS, dual-zone climate control, 17-inch alloy wheels, six-CD audio, leather and suede upholstery, park distance control and a power sunroof.
Apart from heavy steering Adventra drives well. Its constant all-wheel-drive system won't get you seriously off-road but it adds handling security in the wet and on gravel.
