Volkswagen T2 Kombi immortalised by Lego
The iconic Kombi becomes latest offering in the Lego Creator series.
Lego has decided to celebrate the second-generation Volkswagen Type 2 – better known as the Kombi – by turning it into a model kit.
Alongside playing an inadvertent role in the Counterculture movement of the 60s and 70s, the Volkswagen Kombi was also produced in certain countries for over thirty-years straight, forging its status as an icon.
The new Volkswagen T2 camper van Lego Creator kit celebrates its legacy. With 2207 pieces, the model features sliding doors, a pop-up textile roof, 'rock-and-roll'-style bed and even a groovy surfboard.
The kit costs $269 and will be available as of 1 August 2021 via Lego's online store and retailers across Australia.
The Lego Creator series celebrates everything from nature through to architecture and cars, with the icons like the Porsche 911 and Aston Martin DB5 also featuring in the series.
