Volkswagen has wheeled out a pair of Golf-based concepts for its annual Woerthersee gathering.
The first is the work of Volkswagen apprentices at the company’s Wolfsburg HQ in Germany, called the Golf GTI First Decade.
Rather than pay tribute to the earliest GTIs, the ‘First Decade’ name refers to Woerthersee’s first ten GTI concepts, and the efforts of Volkswagen apprentices over that time period.
The First Decade features all-wheel-drive, combining a 300kW petrol engine with a 12kW, 48-volt electric motor with each motor also able to drive the car independently.
