Video: Electric Ford F-150 faster than a Raptor
Ford has previewed the upcoming fully-electric F-150, confirming the pick-up will be the most powerful offered by the brand yet.
The fully-electric 2022 Ford F-150 has once again been teased in both an image (above) and a video (bottom), along with confirmation the model will be the most powerful F-150 produced to date.
While no details have been given, Ford's claim means the electric pick-up will eclipse the Raptor, which currently holds the title of the most powerful F-150.
The F-150 Raptor's 3.5-litre twin-turbo V6 puts out 336kW and 692Nm, propelling the 2500+ kilogram ute to 100km/h from a standstill in less than six seconds.
However, the language used by Ford emphasises the all-electric F-150 will be the most powerful when compared to all models made now and in the past, suggesting there may be an even more powerful, performance-oriented F-150 still-to-come.
In August 2020, reports hinted at the next F-150 Raptor gaining a version of the 567kW/847Nm 5.2-litre supercharged V8 from the Ford Mustang GT500.

Even if the new F-150 BEV (battery electric vehicle) isn't the quickest in the model range, it's almost guaranteed the pick-up will deliver significant torque. In July 2019, Ford demonstrated the ability of the electric F-Truck by having it tow a cargo train.
The news of Ford's electric pick-up comes as the company broke ground for a new plant, specifically designed to manufacture the F-150 BEV. Production is expected to begin by mid-2022.
It's estimated an F-Series pick-up is sold every 30 seconds on average, with Ford claiming the model alone generates more revenue than companies such as McDonald's, Nike, Coca-Cola, Visa, and Netflix.
