Victoria Police head off-road in the Jeep Cherokee
The Victoria Police and Chrysler Australia have continued their partnership, with the Victoria Police taking delivery of a brand new Jeep Cherokee.
The newly delivered Jeep Cherokee will be used for functions and high-profile events. It was seen most recently at the Royal Melbourne Show and can be spotted helping out emergency services, in addition to touring schools for various programs.
The Jeep Cherokee is powered by a 3.7-litre V6 petrol engine that produces 151kW and 314Nm of torque. Although you can't buy a fully kitted out Jeep Cherokee with lights, sirens and reflective signage, you can buy one for daily commuting from $36,990.
It took this year's Show 'n Shine competition at the 2010 Jeep Jamboree, demonstrating its off-road prowess in a public demonstration.
Standard off-road features include Hill Descent Control, Hill Start Assist and an active four-wheel-drive system called Selec-Trac II.
