Toyota brings back the ultimate Low-Lux, but with a catch
The HiLux Revo Z Razer Edition scores a lower ride height and sporty appearance.
Toyota Thailand has enhanced its local HiLux range, unveiling the HiLux Revo Z Razer Edition, just two weeks after the automaker introduced a Hilux Revo GR Sport for the Thai market.
Only available as a 4x2 dual-cab, this special edition scores a performance-themed exterior make-over. The Razer appearance pack includes a sportier front bumper, side skirts, new-look rear bumper, and an assortment of body graphics which have been added to the bonnet, doors, and tailgate.
The choice of five-spoke alloy wheels, or a fatter aftermarket wheel package, and a variety of GR Sport parts can also be optioned.
That sport-style makeover is purely aesthetic, however, with no engine performance changes.
Power comes from the standard entry-level 2.4-litre turbo-diesel engine. When paired to a six-speed automatic this produces 110kW and 400Nm, and paired with a six-speed manual transmission it delivers 110kW and 343Nm.
Toyota Thailand is selling all of the exterior pieces separately, with the front bumper $AU345, side skirts $AU276, rear bumper $AU125 and body graphics for $AU130 – a total add on of $AU766.
Drive has contacted Toyota Australia for information on the HiLux Z Razer's chances of coming to Australia, even as a range of genuine accessories.
Given the relatively small sales of 4x2 utes compared to their more popular 4x4 siblings – and the positioning of the HiLux 4x2 as a workhorse, more than a show pony – don't hold your breath for this kit on Aussie streets.
