Canoo electric sports sedan spied in California
The futuristic five-seater is slated for launch in 2025. This is the first time we’ve seen it on the street.
An all-new sedan designed and built by electric vehicle start-up Canoo has been spied at the brand’s Californian headquarters.
Snapped by Redditor Mcardiel007, the yet-to-be-named bulbous five-seater shares its front fascia, roofline, and headlights with the larger Canoo minivan unveiled last year.
A cream-coloured interior can be made out through the substantial nose-to-tail glasshouse, as can a squared-off steering wheel and wide single-piece dashboard.
Performance specifications are unknown for now, however the vehicle will almost certainly be underpinned by Canoo’s modular skateboard chassis co-developed with Korean automotive giant Hyundai.
The brands claim this platform permits a maximum battery range of 480km, and an output of “up to” 372kW when optioned with the dual-motor all-wheel drive powertrain.
The vehicle is slated for launch in 2025, and will be manufactured at a designated production facility in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
It will follow the Canoo minivan, slated for 2022, and a forward-control pick-up truck in 2023.
