Steer democracy your own way with this ex-Secret Service Cadillac limo

Own a piece of American history and become Commander in Chief of your cul-de-sac, with this retired US-Presidential motorcade Cadillac Fleetwood limousine.

Looking for a modern classic that puts the VP in VIP? This 1984 Cadillac Series 75 Fleetwood limousine, set to be auctioned at the Mecum sale in Dallas, Texas this September, has served its country at the front of queue, as a United States Secret Service motorcade vehicle.

Put into service during the term of the 40th President of the United States, Ronald Regan (1980-1984), the black over blue Cadillac includes emergency red lights behind the grille, Presidential Seal signage, flag mounts, CB-radio and an external public address system, and has travelled just over 35,000 miles (56,000km).

The car was used to transport Secret Service agents as part of the Presidential motorcade, and went on to support the term of George Bush Snr and other other government officials before being retired and sold at auction in 2005 for a staggeringly low $400.

Paperwork supplied with the car shows the seller at the time was the 'Department of Homeland Security', and in other collateral the seller notes that during the restoration back to 'Regan' specification, they discovered that the car was originally supplied to the government as white but was repainted three times to black by the Secret Service.

The Cadillac Series 75 Fleetwood was produced between 1977 and 1984 and in its final year featured a 6.0-litre V8 with 104kW/359Nm output. The car had seating for seven (three across the bench up front and then four in the back) and in standard 3670mm wheelbase, was over 6-meters long (6205mm).

No price range or auction reserve has been listed, but Mecum sold a 'civilian' Series 75 Fleetwood in 2021 for $US13,750 ($AU21,000), so we would expect the White House provenance of this car to command a much higher... office.
