The range begins at $42,990 (plus on-road costs) for the 5008 Allure powered by a 1.6-litre four-cylinder turbo petrol engine. It produces 121kW of power and 240Nm of torque and is paired exclusively to a six-speed automatic transmission.

Standard equipment includes seven seats, 18-inch alloy wheels, Peugeot’s i-Cockpit 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, 8-inch capacitive touchscreen, leather-trimmed steering wheel, satellite navigation, digital radio, surround-view camera, adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning and autonomous emergency braking.

The mid-tier GT Line model is priced from $46,990 and adds a hands-free power tailgate, LED headlights, high beam assist, blind spot monitoring, lane keeping assistance, a black roof and a ‘Sports’ front bumper and grille.

The line-up is topped by the GT which is priced from $52,990 and is powered by a 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbo diesel engine that makes 133kW and 400Nm.

In addition to the new engine, the GT also gains 19-inch alloys, Alcantara door and dashboard trim inserts, electrically adjustable driver’s seat with massage function, heated front seats, chrome mirror shells and wheel arch extensions on top of the GT Line’s standard gear.

The 5008 is set to arrive in Australia in February 2018 but the company has begun taking orders. Early adopters will benefit from a bonus Adventure Pack that adds roof bars, wind deflector, rubber floor mats, rubber mat and cargo net for boot and a sport specific roof bar attachment (suitable for a bike or skis).
