New cars spied this week

Top end luxury vehicles from Bentley and Maserati caught out this week.

Maserati Levante

Spy photographers have snapped the first images of the production version of the Maserati Levante SUV while it was undergoing testing at the Nurburgring in Germany.

The test car resembles the Italian brand's Kubang concept but isn't as extreme, which is to be expected as the vehicle moves from concept into production.

The Levante's front headlights and bumpers have been restyled as well as new taillights and a more conventional tailgate compared to the concept.

The new SUV is expected to get a few engine options including two V6 variants - one petrol, one diesel - and a range topping V8.

The new Levante could be seen in full production guise at the 2016 Geneva motor show.

Maserati Australia is already predicting it will become its best-selling model when it arrives down under, enough to double the brand's total volume.

Bentley Mulsanne

Bentley's refreshed flagship Mulsanne sedan has been caught testing.

The cosmetic changes will only be minor with a revised front and rear bumpers giving the luxury limousine a more aggressive appearance.

The new front headlights look similar to those seen on the British brand's new Bentayga SUV which was unveiled at the 2015 Frankfurt motor show.

The interior remains a mystery but an upgrade of tech seen on the Bentayga should translate over the new Mulsanne.
