Lamborghini Lanzador electric-car concept images leaked

The concept previewing Lamborghini's first electric car – a high-riding two-door luxury coupe – have appeared online ahead of its official unveiling due imminently.

Images of the Lamborghini Lanzador concept – a preview of the first electric car from the Italian supercar specialist – have surfaced online ahead of schedule, ahead of its formal unveiling in the next 36 hours.

Shared widely on social media – including by Instagram account Actu Auto – the photos confirm the two-door, high-riding electric concept will wear the Lanzador name, which translates to "pitcher" or "thrower" in Spanish.

The production model is due in 2028, the company has previously confirmed.

As previously confirmed by Lamborghini executives, the electric car is a two-door coupe with four seats and a taller ride height – bridging the gap between the company's supercars and the Urus SUV.

It borrows design cues from other new Lamborghinis, such as the Y-shaped headlights at the front, flared wheel arches, and bold, aggressive body lines.

Inside, the Lanzador showcases a jet-style cockpit with digital displays for the driver and passenger. There is a floating centr console, and rear seats that are shown to fold, allowing for a generous two-seat cargo area.

The toggle switches and buttons across the dashboard and the steering wheel are in keeping with the jet inspiration.

Lamborghini's first foray into the electric-car market is due in showrooms in 2028, in time with the celebration of the 60th anniversary of the iconic Lamborghini Espada – also a two-door, four-seat sports car.

The Lanzador is expected to be underpinned by the Volkswagen Group's upcoming SSP Sport electric-car architecture for high-performance sports cars, with 800-volt electrical system facilitating rapid charging.

The same platform is due to underpin an upcoming flagship Porsche SUV, as well as other models from Bentley and Porsche.

While these images provide a clear look at what the concept will look like, Lamborghini will provide further details when the car is formally unveiled sometime today (18 August) in the US.
