Jeep has recalled selected Grand Cherokee SUV models in Australia due to a potential interior electrical short.
The carmaker says sun-visors on some vehicles may experience a high-resistance electrical short with the sun-visor vanity lamp.
In particular, problems may have triggered if the lamp has been serviced or if past access to the vehicle’s headliner has been necessary.
If affected, the vanity lamp may cease to operate, or a fire may result in extreme circumstances.
A total of 11,345 Grand Cherokees are affected by the recall, spanning from 2011 to 2013.
The smaller sibling to the Grand Cherokee, the Cherokee, was recently recalled for a potential problem with the powered tailgate, while the Compass and Patriot SUVs were recalled for a power steering hose issue.
Jeep will attempt to contact affected owners shortly, but any owner wishing to learn more about the latest round of recalls should contact their local dealer.
