Ferrari's entry-level California convertible is set to get tougher in 2012, and new images of a lightly-camouflaged test car reveal that the project is well underway.
The Italian supercar outfit has yet to offer any technical details on the update, but reports out of Europe point to an enhanced version of the Cali's 4.3 litre V8 leading the tweaks.
Power is expected to grow from 338 to 360kW, and new aluminium components will reportedly see weight drop by around 30kg - about as much as the small offspring you might manage to squeeze into the rear seats (also known as a parcel shelf).
The test car shown here is wearing only minor camouflage, suggesting that the car's visual updates will be kept to a minimum.
An unveiling date for the revised California has not been announced, but reports point to a January date - possibly at the upcoming 2012 Detroit Auto Show.
