They’re only teaser design sketches but it seems Hyundai’s upcoming facelift for the Sonata sedan will bring a sporty flavour when it debuts next month at the Seoul motor show ahead of its Australian launch in a couple of months.
Note the large version of Hyundai’s new signature ‘cascading’ grille, the beefed-up central logo, new headlights and new bumper design.
The rear sees new LED tail-lights, a freshened bumper design and chrome tips for the exhaust tailpipes.
Word coming out of Korea points to two model grades for the updated Hyundai Sonata – an entry-level model and, as seen in these sketches, a ‘muscled-up’ sports model (likely to carry-over the current turbocharged 2.0-litre engine).
