Aussie Jac to buy Jaguar?

Will ex-Ford boss Jac Nasser slip back into the driver’s seat for one more spin around the block?

Lebanese-born Australian Jac Nasser may soon find himself back behind the wheel of Jaguar, Volvo, Land Rover and Aston Martin if the Wall Street goss is correct. Nasser, who headed the Ford Motor Company in Detroit from 1999 to 2001 when the company was the world No.2, has lately been the senior partner for mergers and acquisitions at JPMorgan Chase's One Equity Partners operation.

Nasser stitched the famous brands together into Ford's Premier Auto Group while he was in office. The idea has yet to produce solid results and it is believed One Equity Partners may be talking to Ford about how to offload PAG so it can concentrate on its core problems.

According to Bloomberg, the One Equity Partners talks do not include Volvo, which suggests Ford may want to sell only the loss-making parts of PAG.
