2018 Alfa Romeo Stelvio Ti announced from $78,900
With 206kW of power from a 2.0-litre four-pot
Alfa Romeo has made the Stelvio Ti official in Australia, with the 206kW SUV priced from $78,900 before on-road costs.
The hotter SUV, which has been offered in overseas markets since launch, is powered by the 206kW/400Nm 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbocharged engine from the Giulia Veloce. Alfa Romeo says it runs from standstill to 100km/h in just 5.7 seconds, and tops out at 230km/h.
Power is put to all four wheels through an eight-speed automatic transmission, with claimed fuel economy sitting at 7.0L/100km.
Along with the more powerful engine, the Ti comes with hydraulic Frequency Selective Dampers, with an option for fully-adaptive suspension.
While we're talking standard equipment, Alfa Romeo has fitted a mechanical limited-slip differential on the rear-axle, designed to better take advantage of the rear-bias inherent in the car's Q4 all-wheel drive system.
The front seats have been replaced with heated sports units, and there's a heated steering wheel to make chilly mornings a bit easier. Tinted rear windows are also standard, along with aluminium sports pedals, adaptive cruise control and a 10-speaker audio system.
Forward-collision warnings, adaptive cruise control and lane-departure warnings are standard, while blind-spot monitoring and parking sensors are also standard. Alfa Romeo is keen to point out the car's five-star ANCAP rating, handed down earlier this week.
Those add-ons bolster the standard car's equipment list, which includes an 8.8-inch central touchscreen, navigation, push-button start and keyless entry, and a powered tailgate.
You'll pay more for a panoramic sunroof ($2400), active suspension ($2200), harmon/kardon audio ($1500) and an alarm ($750).
