2024 Mercedes-Benz EQA and EQB price and specs: Fewer options but more range for the electric pair

Mercedes-Benz EQA and EQB prices up, but more driving range and equipment added to all-electric models.

Mercedes-Benz has reshuffled its EQA and EQB electric car line-up, trimming options and putting prices up, but adding more driving range to alleviate anxiety.

Starting with the EQA 250, pricing for the 2024 version now dubbed 250+ is up $2600 to $84,900 before on-road costs, keeping Mercedes’ entry-level electric car under the current luxury car tax threshold of $89,332 for fuel-efficient vehicles.

The top-spec EQA 350 4Matic meanwhile, nudges up $321 to $102,900 before on-road costs.

As for the 2024 EQB 250+, pricing rises $1366 to $89,100 before on-road costs when compared with the outgoing 250 base car, but third-row seating is now standard, which was a $2900 option.

Going forward the EQB 250+ will also be the only variant offered, with the 350 version now discontinued.

Aside from the pricing, the headlining change in the updated EQA and EQB 250+ models is a boosted driving range thanks to a larger 70.5kWh battery (up from 66.5kWh in the outgoing car), with the former gaining an additional 54km of range and the latter up another 57km when tested on the NEDC.

This means the EQA 250+ and EQB 250+ can now travel up to 578km and 564km respectively before needing a recharge.

The new EQA 350 retains the same 66.5kWh battery as before with a driving range of 489km.

Equipment has also been reshuffled across both model lines, with the standard inclusion of the AMG Line exterior styling package with 20-inch wheels, electronic front seats, uprated sound system, panoramic sunroof, and metallic paint.

This is in addition to carryover standard features such as tri-zone climate control, front sports seats, an MBUX infotainment touchscreen, interior ambient lighting, wireless smartphone charger, keyless entry, push-button start, and a surround-view monitor.

To set the new models apart, both the 2024 EQA and EQB boast a new front grille with Mercedes’ constellation star pattern, as well as redesigned tail-light graphics.

Inside, there is the latest version of Mercedes’ multi-function sports steering wheel wrapped in nappa leather, which now includes touch-control buttons.

As before, the 250+ versions of the EQA and EQB output 140kW/385Nm from a single electric motor driving the front wheels, while the EQA 350 features a 215kW/520Nm dual-motor set-up with all-wheel drive.
